Film Synopsis
The Glass Cage (1955) follows a struggling carnival promoter who finances a dangerous sideshow act in which a performer attempts to break a starvation endurance record inside a glass enclosure. When a woman connected to his associates is murdered and suspicion spreads among the carnival circle, the sideshow performer becomes a crucial witness and target. This British crime thriller blends noir fatalism, carnival atmosphere, and murder mystery while examining desperation, exploitation, and survival on society’s margins.
