Synopsis
The Frightened City (1961) follows a criminal accountant who proposes uniting several rival London gangs into a single syndicate controlling the city’s protection rackets. As violence and rivalry escalate among the criminals while police investigate the growing operation, a reluctant burglar becomes entangled in the dangerous scheme. This British crime thriller blends gangland intrigue, urban noir atmosphere, and power struggles within organized crime.
