The China Syndrome (1979) follows a television news reporter and her cameraman who witness an abnormal shutdown and near-meltdown sequence at a nuclear power plant during a routine feature story on energy. As they push to reveal the truth, a veteran plant supervisor begins his own investigation and discovers serious safety violations and falsified inspection reports that threaten another disaster. Their attempts to expose the danger draw them into a tense confrontation with corporate and regulatory forces, raising questions about public safety and accountability in a gripping thriller.
