He’s not just another out-of-towner…
Synopsis
The Brother from Another Planet (1984) follows an extraterrestrial fugitive who appears as a Black man and crash-lands in New York City after escaping slavery on his home planet. As he navigates life in Harlem using his ability to repair machines and connect with others despite his silence, he is pursued by agents seeking to return him. This science fiction film blends social allegory and understated humor in a story of displacement, identity, and assimilation.
