Film Synopsis
The Beast Within (1982) portrays a couple who return to the rural Mississippi town where the wife survived a violent attack seventeen years earlier, hoping to explain their teenage son’s sudden illness. Their questions uncover a history the residents refuse to discuss while the boy’s condition progresses into violent behaviour and an alarming physical transformation. This Southern Gothic body horror frames its graphic creature effects within swamp landscapes, guarded townspeople, and a mystery rooted in the past.
