Andrea was dying to get in the movies…
Synopsis
Special Effects (1984) follows a manipulative New York filmmaker who kills an aspiring actress and records the act to serve as material for a new project. As he coerces those connected to the victim into participating in his film, deception deepens and the boundaries between performance and reality begin to collapse under mounting pressure. This horror thriller blends voyeurism, meta-cinema, and urban sleaze in an examination of exploitation, control, and the blurred line between artifice and violence.
