Spasms, for all its silliness, provided Canadian horror cinema with several choice moments … The climax of the movie has [Oliver] Reed in a gargantuan wrestling match with the demonic serpent. He manages to de-oculate the beast, but the snake finds the strength to deliver one last death bite before being machine-gunned into bits by Peter Fonda.
