Film Synopsis
Skyscraper Souls (1932) presents a bank president whose control of a 100-storey New York skyscraper is threatened when his directors warn that the enormous loan he made to himself may face legal scrutiny. While manoeuvring to preserve the tower, he also targets his longtime mistress’s young secretary, drawing employees and investors into his pursuit of money and control. This pre-Code ensemble melodrama turns its Art Deco high-rise into a compressed social world where corporate ambition shapes the private lives of those working inside it.
