They were out for blood and rotten to the core. Now they’re back…
Synopsis
Return of the Killer Tomatoes! (1988) centers on an aimless young man who becomes involved with a mysterious woman while investigating strange events connected to the supposedly defeated killer tomatoes. As secret experiments, mutated tomato-human creations, and increasingly absurd conspiracies begin emerging from the laboratory of the eccentric Professor Gangreen while authorities remain oblivious to the growing threat, the pair find themselves battling a renewed outbreak of tomato-fueled chaos. This comedy science fiction film examines unchecked ambition through broad parody and self-aware humor, as increasingly ridiculous schemes begin to unravel, with mad science, media satire, and mutant creatures.
