Synopsis
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! (1978) centers on a worldwide crisis triggered when tomatoes inexplicably become sentient and begin attacking people across the globe. As government officials struggle to contain public panic and a hastily assembled team of specialists attempts to identify the source of the menace while increasingly absurd tomato attacks spread through cities, beaches, and suburban neighborhoods, the crisis escalates into nationwide chaos. This horror-comedy parody examines institutional incompetence and disaster-movie conventions through broad satire, as authorities scramble for solutions, with mutant creatures, government bureaucracy, and absurdist humor.
