Wanted: Two thrill-seeking reporters, brains optional, looking to dig up the story of the century. For information call… Transylvania 6-5000
Synopsis
Transylvania 6-5000 (1985) follows two hapless tabloid reporters sent to Transylvania to find proof of Frankenstein’s monster or face losing their jobs, only to encounter a comically bizarre cast of creatures and villagers along the way. As they are mocked, misled, and pulled deeper into a series of strange encounters with a wolfman, a nymphomaniac vampire, a mummy, and a mad doctor, their assignment becomes an escalating spoof of classic horror tropes. This horror-comedy blends campy monsters and slapstick misadventure in a wild, genre-mashing quest that never quite finds a serious rhythm.
