Film Synopsis
Loophole (1954) centers on a bank employee who discovers a major cash shortage but delays reporting it, placing himself under immediate suspicion when investigators begin examining the theft. As a relentless insurance investigator follows him from job to job and mounting financial pressure destroys his stability at home, he struggles to uncover the real culprit before his reputation and marriage are permanently ruined. This film noir crime drama examines institutional pressure and personal desperation within postwar American society, as suspicion spreads, with wrongful accusation, economic instability, and psychological intimidation.
