Film Synopsis
Laura (1944) chronicles a New York detective investigating the murder of an advertising executive by questioning the people who knew her best. As conflicting recollections reveal the complicated relationships surrounding her life, he becomes increasingly fascinated by the woman at the center of the case. This film noir mystery builds its intrigue around obsession and idealization, allowing memory, testimony, and desire to shape an elusive portrait of its central figure.
