Synopsis
Jaws (1975) centers on the police chief of Amity Island as he investigates a series of brutal shark attacks threatening the town’s economically vital beaches. As political pressure from local officials delays public safety measures while additional killings intensify panic among residents and tourists, the chief joins a marine biologist and a hardened shark hunter in a dangerous effort to destroy the predator at sea. This suspense horror adventure film examines fear and institutional denial within a vulnerable seaside community, as authorities struggle to contain mounting terror, with survival, economic desperation, and primal human anxiety.
