Inquisition (1978) follows a 16th-century witch hunter who arrives in a plague-stricken village, using fear and fanaticism to accuse innocent women of consorting with the devil. When he becomes infatuated with a beautiful young woman, his hypocrisy and cruelty lead to deadly consequences. This grim historical horror from Spain’s Paul Naschy blends religious obsession, eroticism, and moral corruption in a tale of persecution and power.
