Synopsis
I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (1932) centers on a former soldier and aspiring engineer struggling to rebuild his life after returning from the war. As an accidental involvement in a robbery leads to a harsh prison sentence while the inhumane conditions of a Georgia chain gang strip prisoners of dignity and hope, he risks everything to escape and forge a new identity. This crime drama examines injustice and perseverance within a deeply flawed penal system, as the consequences of a single mistake continue to shape a man’s future, with wrongful conviction, institutional cruelty, and the struggle for freedom.
