They called it love! But that isn’t what the town whispered… nor the ugly name the husband gave it when he found out… too late!
Synopsis
Clash by Night (1952) follows a young woman returning to her industrial hometown, where unresolved tensions and romantic entanglements with a former lover and a new suitor ignite personal and social conflicts. As jealousy, ambition, and resentment flare, her choices become entangled with the struggles and betrayals of those around her. This melodrama-noir blends emotional intensity and gritty realism in a tense study of desire, disillusionment, and the cost of longing.
