Film Synopsis
No Blade of Grass (1970) portrays a London family leaving the capital as a global disease devastates grasses and cereal crops. Their journey towards a relative’s secluded northern farm is threatened by military roadblocks, armed groups, and intensifying competition for food and shelter. This ecological science-fiction thriller contrasts the English countryside with abrupt violence, pollution montages, and disorienting flash-forwards that anticipate dangers along the route.
