Film Synopsis
What Lies Beneath (2000) follows a woman who begins hearing mysterious voices and seeing a female apparition in the Vermont home she shares with her husband. Although he dismisses her experiences as delusions, the recurring disturbances compel her to investigate their source. This supernatural thriller draws on Hitchcockian suspense, using domestic isolation, reflective surfaces, and recurring water imagery to sustain uncertainty and unease.
