Film Synopsis
The Velvet Vampire (1971) portrays a married couple who accept an invitation from an alluring woman to visit her isolated home in the California desert. As their host draws both husband and wife into her orbit, jealousy, erotic fascination, and unsettling dreams begin to disrupt their marriage. This vampire horror film moves Gothic sexuality into the sunlit California desert, reworking familiar conventions through shifting desire and the contrast between everyday surroundings and supernatural danger.
