Synopsis
The Man in Black (1950) follows a young woman who returns to her family estate after her wealthy father dies during a mysterious demonstration of yogic trance. As she settles back into the household, her stepmother and stepsister scheme to undermine her sanity in order to gain control of the family fortune. This British mystery thriller blends Gothic melodrama, inheritance intrigue, and psychological manipulation within a suspenseful domestic setting.
