The Man in Black (1950) follows a young woman who returns home after her father’s death, only to find her stepmother scheming to drive her insane and claim the family fortune. As sinister events unfold, the haunting presence of her late father’s spirit seems to warn her of the danger closing in. This moody British thriller blends gothic atmosphere, psychological suspense, and supernatural overtones in a tale of greed and manipulation.
