Film Synopsis
The Laughing Woman (1969) centers on a wealthy advertising executive obsessed with manipulating women who abducts a journalist known for her outspoken feminist views and imprisons her inside his modernist estate. As psychological games, erotic power struggles, and shifting identities begin destabilizing the relationship between captor and captive, the carefully controlled experiment gradually reverses direction in unexpected ways. This Italian-French psychological thriller examines domination and sexual manipulation within a stylized world of modern alienation, as personal boundaries erode, with gender conflict, voyeurism, and psychological control.
