Film Synopsis
The Lady Vanishes (1979) follows an American heiress who befriends an elderly English governess while travelling by train through Germany shortly before the Second World War. When the governess disappears and other passengers deny ever seeing her, the heiress enlists an American photographer to search the train and expose the reason for the deception. This British mystery comedy blends a confined train mystery with broad humour, romantic friction, eccentric passengers, and an espionage plot shaped by prewar tensions.
