Synopsis
The Devil’s Brother (1933) centers on the infamous bandit Fra Diavolo, who disguises himself as a nobleman in order to gain the trust of a wealthy married couple and steal their fortune. As two inept aspiring thieves are drawn into his schemes while robberies, mistaken identities, and romantic entanglements complicate the plan, the operation becomes increasingly difficult to control. This musical comedy adventure examines greed and deception within a playful operetta-inspired world, as criminal ambition repeatedly collides with comic incompetence, with banditry, disguise, and farcical misadventure.
