In his mind, he has the power to see the future. In his hands, he has the power to change it.

With the possible exception of The Green Mile [The Dead Zone] happens to be the finest adaptation of a Stephen King work. … Much as King’s novel was two distinctly different tales, so the film is almost two different films … The first half establishes Smith’s accident and the turmoil born thereof, before scattering serial killer fibres into the mix. At midpoint it veers off in another direction and becomes a gripping political thriller. Yet both halves complement each other extremely well and the whole is such a satisfying viewing experience that one is compelled to return to it again and again.
