The first sex-horror film ever made!

Synopsis

The Blood Rose (1970) follows a renowned painter whose wife is left horribly disfigured after a tragic accident, spurring him into obsessive efforts to restore her face by forcing a disgraced surgeon into unorthodox procedures. As his quest deepens and means become increasingly desperate, ethical collapse and looming violence twist love into fixation. This French horror blends gothic atmosphere and exploitation tension in a stark tale of obsession and bodily terror.
