Synopsis
Sukkubus (1989) centers on three men tending cattle in a remote Alpine hut whose prolonged isolation, sexual frustration, and heavy drinking lead them to construct a female effigy from cloth and wood. As the doll transforms into a living succubus and violent supernatural incidents begin overtaking the isolated mountain setting, fear, paranoia, and repressed desire steadily destroy the fragile balance between the men. This West German folk horror film examines isolation and primal impulse within a harsh rural landscape shaped by myth and superstition, as fear begins to overtake reason, with sexual repression, supernatural vengeance, and psychological disintegration.
