Film Synopsis
The White Reindeer (1952) follows a lonely woman in the Arctic north whose longing for love leads her into an ancient shamanistic ritual with terrifying consequences. As desire and isolation give way to a supernatural curse, she becomes a predator bound to folklore and the unforgiving landscape. This stark folk horror blends ethnographic detail and icy fatalism in a haunting tale of myth, sexuality, and transformation.
