A love story about two people who hate each other… 200 years in the future.
Film Synopsis
Sleeper (1973) concerns a health-food store owner who is cryogenically preserved after an operation and revived 200 years later. Because he has no identity in the government’s records, underground rebels recruit him for their campaign against the ruling regime, leaving him pursued by the authorities and entangled with a privileged young poet. This science-fiction comedy uses its dystopian future to satirize political authority, technological dependence, sexual attitudes, and changing ideas about health.
