Many of his fellow officers considered him the most dangerous man alive – an honest cop.
Synopsis
Serpico (1973) follows a young police officer assigned to patrol New York City who discovers that bribery and corruption are deeply entrenched in the force. As he refuses to participate and attempts to report the misconduct, he becomes isolated, endangered, and increasingly disillusioned by the institution he serves. This crime drama blends procedural realism, psychological character study, and urban social commentary while examining integrity, institutional corruption, and personal sacrifice.
