Film Synopsis

Marlowe (1969) centers on private investigator Philip Marlowe, who is hired by a young woman from Kansas to locate her missing brother. As his search leads through seedy hotels, television studios, and the city’s criminal underworld while a trail of murders, blackmail schemes, and hidden connections emerges around the missing man, he finds himself confronting increasingly dangerous adversaries. This neo-noir crime thriller examines deception and corruption within a rapidly changing Los Angeles, as every answer uncovers new layers of intrigue, with murder investigations, organized crime, and private-eye detective work.
