There was always a man… never a name!

Synopsis

Madame X (1966) centers on the wife of an ambitious diplomat whose life is shattered after an affair and a fatal incident threaten to destroy her family. As she is forced into exile while years of hardship, poverty, and personal decline carry her across Europe and Mexico, she remains haunted by the loss of the son she is forbidden to see. This melodrama examines sacrifice and maternal devotion within a world shaped by social expectations and personal tragedy, as one woman’s efforts to protect her family lead to a lifetime of loneliness, hardship, and heartbreaking consequences.
