Synopsis
Le professionnel (1981) follows a French intelligence agent sent to assassinate an African leader, only to be betrayed by his own government and handed over to authorities when political priorities shift. As he escapes imprisonment and returns to France, he resumes his mission while targeting those responsible for his betrayal, intensifying the conflict between personal revenge and state control. This French action thriller blends espionage intrigue, political tension, and revenge-driven momentum in an examination of loyalty, betrayal, and institutional power.
