A bickering couple on a road trip through the desert picks up a stranded hitchhiker who soon reveals himself to be a violent fugitive with a hidden stash of stolen money. Forced to drive at gunpoint, the couple becomes entangled in a tense psychological struggle for survival and control. As tensions mount, simmering resentments and shifting alliances lead to a bloody reckoning.
