Film Synopsis
Five Graves to Cairo (1943) centers on a lone British survivor of a tank battle who takes refuge in a remote Egyptian hotel serving as a temporary headquarters for the German Afrika Korps. As he impersonates a waiter to gather intelligence on Rommel’s secret military plans while German officers, suspicious staff members, and the realities of wartime occupation threaten to expose his identity, the mission becomes an increasingly dangerous game of deception. This war espionage thriller examines courage and survival within the uncertainty of the North African campaign, as suspicion spreads, with undercover operations, military strategy, and personal sacrifice.
