Synopsis
Cornbread, Earl and Me (1975) follows a young boy in a Chicago neighborhood who idolizes a local basketball star poised to leave for college on scholarship. As police mistake the athlete for a fleeing suspect and shoot him in the street, the boy becomes a key witness while intimidation spreads through the community and pressures silence those involved. This coming-of-age drama develops grounded tension, with police violence, community pressure, and moral responsibility influencing decisions.
