A brilliant gay comedy romance – full of fun!
Synopsis
A Countess from Hong Kong (1967) follows a stateless Russian countess working as a dance-hall hostess in Hong Kong who secretly stows away in the cabin of a wealthy American diplomat aboard an ocean liner. As the ship sails toward the United States, the diplomat struggles to conceal her presence from the crew while navigating the complications her situation creates. This British romantic comedy blends farce, mistaken identity, and old-fashioned screwball elements in a shipboard story of romance and social displacement.
