Film Synopsis
The Brothers Rico (1957) portrays a former syndicate accountant whose prosperous new life in Florida is disrupted by troubling news about his two younger brothers. His former boss sends him across the country to locate one of them, but each encounter gives him further reason to question the organization’s assurances. This late-period film noir frames organized crime as a disciplined national network, using an expanding search and restrained black-and-white photography to create a steadily tightening sense of entrapment.

- Indicator’s Blu-ray is included in the “Columbia Noir #4” box set with Walk a Crooked Mile (1948), Walk East on Beacon! (1952), A Bullet is Waiting (1954), Pushover (1954) and Chicago Syndicate (1955). It contains a 120-page booklet with writing by Omar Ahmed, Monica Castillo, Beth Ann Gallagher, Bob Herzberg, Jen Johans, and Sophie Monks Kaufman. Reissued individually (2024/03/25).
