During a local festival, villagers unknowingly provoke the wrath of the undead Knights Templar, who rise from their graves seeking vengeance for their brutal execution centuries earlier. As the blind revenants lay siege to the town, a small group of survivors barricades themselves inside a church, desperately fighting to stay alive. Building on the eerie legacy of the first film, this sequel delivers heightened suspense, bloodier action, and a deeper dive into the Templars’ cursed history.

The sequel to the popular Tombs of the Blind Dead (1972) may take a while to get going, but once it does it’s a fun filled ride. … Return has all the same ingredients as the first film but manages to have a more cohesive flow. De Ossorio has full command of his Templar Knights, and his positing them in a real town (as opposed to their ruined one of the first film) helps move the action along. The comparisons to Romero’s Night of the Living Dead (1968) are obvious but only add to the fun.
