The Bogart suspense picture with the surprise finish.
In a Lonely Place (1950) centers on a troubled Hollywood screenwriter suspected of murdering a young woman. When his new romance with a neighbor seems to offer hope, his violent temper and erratic behavior make her fear he may indeed be guilty. Blending psychological tension with noir fatalism, the film explores paranoia, love, and self-destruction in postwar Hollywood.
