Tora! Tora! Tora!

Poster of Tora! Tora! Tora!

The incredible attack on Pearl Harbor as told from both the American and Japanese sides.

Synopsis

Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970) centers on the parallel efforts of Japanese military planners preparing a surprise strike against the U.S. Pacific Fleet and American officials attempting to interpret increasingly alarming intelligence reports. As diplomatic negotiations deteriorate, communication failures multiply, and critical warnings are delayed or overlooked while Japanese carrier forces move into position across the Pacific, both nations advance toward a historic military confrontation. This American-Japanese war film examines miscalculation and institutional failure within the escalating tensions preceding World War II, as rival strategies begin to collide, with military planning, intelligence breakdowns, and historical consequence.
