Synopsis
Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (1944) centers on a group of volunteer Army Air Forces crews selected for a dangerous secret mission involving the launch of B-25 bombers from an aircraft carrier toward targets in Japan. As intensive training, wartime separation from loved ones, and mounting uncertainty surround the unprecedented operation while the mission itself forces the crews into perilous conditions over enemy territory and occupied China, the airmen confront the physical and emotional toll of combat. This war drama examines sacrifice and military duty within the early years of World War II, as the pressure of the mission intensifies, with aerial warfare, patriotism, and survival against overwhelming odds.
