The Sand Pebbles

Poster for The Sand Pebbles

This is the heroic story of the men on the U.S.S. San Pablo who disturbed the sleeping dragon of savage China as the threatened world watched in breathless terror.

Film Synopsis

In 1920s China, Jake Holman, a rebellious American machinist, joins the gunboat San Pablo on a mission to protect U.S. interests during political unrest. As tensions rise between Chinese nationalists and foreign powers, Holman clashes with authority and questions his role in the growing conflict. This sweeping historical drama blends war, romance, and moral conflict against the backdrop of imperialism and revolution.
