The end of the world is just the beginning…
Film Synopsis
The Quiet Earth (1985) centers on a New Zealand scientist who awakens to discover that humanity has seemingly vanished following the activation of an experimental energy project in which he played a crucial role. As prolonged isolation gives way to encounters with two other survivors, they struggle to understand the mysterious phenomenon before it threatens to occur again. This New Zealand science fiction drama blends post-apocalyptic mystery with psychological suspense as isolation, guilt, and the search for meaning shape a haunting exploration of survival and human existence.
