The Killing Time (1987) follows a stranger who kills a man bound for a job as a deputy sheriff and then takes on the dead man’s identity in a quiet California beach town. The town’s sheriff and his mistress are plotting to kill her cruel husband and blame the deputy in order to cover their tracks, but the impostor deputy becomes aware of their plan and acts on his own grim motives.
