Film Synopsis
The Harder They Come (1972) follows a rural Jamaican man who arrives in Kingston seeking success as a reggae singer. As he encounters exploitation from record producers and becomes entangled with drug traffickers, he turns to crime while gaining notoriety and attracting police attention. This crime drama develops mounting pressure and shifting control, with ambition, exploitation, and social struggle shaping events.
