A legend in his own neighborhood.
Film Synopsis
The Flamingo Kid (1984) follows a Brooklyn teenager who spends a transformative summer working at an exclusive beach club while dreaming of wealth and escape. As exposure to privilege, romance, and moral compromise reshapes his ambitions, youthful idealism collides with adult disillusionment. This coming-of-age drama blends nostalgic warmth and social observation in a reflective study of class aspiration, temptation, and self-definition.
