Film Synopsis

The Driller Killer (1979) follows downtown artist Reno Miller as he struggles to complete a large painting while facing unpaid rent, deteriorating relationships, and constant noise from the punk scene surrounding his apartment. As his mental state worsens and encounters with derelicts begin triggering obsessive fears and hallucinations, he starts roaming the streets at night committing brutal murders with a power drill. This urban psychological horror film centers on mental collapse within a decaying city environment, as personal pressures intensify, with artistic frustration, economic desperation, and psychological breakdown.
