13 steps to terror
Film Synopsis
The Attic (1980) follows a lonely librarian whose long-buried grief and repression intensify as she cares for her tyrannical, wheelchair-bound father in their Wichita home after being deserted at the altar decades earlier. As her mental state fractures through isolation, fleeting friendships, and disturbing fantasies, she confronts the horrifying truths hidden behind the attic door that have shaped her life. This American psychological horror drama blends character study and creeping dread in a haunting exploration of control and buried secrets.
