Synopsis

Strip-tease (1963) follows a struggling ballet dancer in Paris who, facing economic hardship and artistic frustration, accepts work as a strip-tease performer and rises into the club scene. As admiration, romance with a wealthy playboy, and her own conflicted pride clash with the realities of her chosen path, she must confront what success and dignity mean beyond public spectacle. This French drama blends personal ambition and social appetite in a candid portrayal of desire, art, and compromise.

A fascinating cinematic artifact that also happens to still be very rewarding on its own terms, this is a must for anyone with a taste for sleek ’60s-era French saucy cinema.
